natalie's pov
I awake to the smell of pancake batter, and the sound of my brother gnawing on another stack of them. I walk into the small kitchen and sit in a chair as my mother hands me a plate with breakfast on it.
"hurry up natalie; we've got a busy day ahead of us," mum said and shuffled over to the stove turning off the eye she used to make the pancakes. "and nate, so do you. you ought to be grateful mr. jackson gave you the opporitunity to work with him on saturdays. now chop - chop."
nate shoved the last of his food in his mouth before dropping his plate and fork into the sink.
"so you're working at the theatre today?" I asked him. nate's always had a thing for plays, and basically anything that had to do with acting. he loved doing musicals more than anything. not many people know, but nate has an incredible singing voice. and when out downstairs neighbor, james, found out, he offered nate an opening spot, but he'd only be an extra, that got three to five lines.
he grinned and nodded. "I'm so excited, even though im an extra."
"is james the lead?" i set my plate in the sink.
"second to that. he plays the candle man." he explained. "I'm one of the five people who sing when they have their riot to kill the beast."
I nodded and assumed they were doing beauty & the beast, since there are no other plays with beasts in them.

"natalie, it's your lunch break." mum said after selling a basket of roses to an older looking woman.
"alright," I said taking off the apron and grabbing my bag.
I walked down the block a bit until I reached the theatre, which was surrounded with girls screaming "One Di-rec-tion!"
They had signs too, raising them high in the air. They had boys names on them also. I shrugged and pushed my way through the crowd, only for them to shove me back harder.
I groaned and started for the backway. I took out the silver key james had given me earlier that day. I walked down the old musty smelling hall and into the 'Employees Only' room.
The room was mostly a lounge, where when the workers got tired or whatever, they came in and drank, smoked, or did whatever.
"god, those girls are crazy," I said raking my hand through my brunette hair.
"more like dedicated." someone said.
I swiveled around seeing none other than the curly haired boy from yesterday, Harry.
"hi, natalie, nice to see you again." he said holding out his hand stepping towards me.
"uhh..." I said and awkwardly took his hand.
"oh, cool, you two know each other?" someone with the nametag 'Liam' said.
"of course we know each other!" harry wrapped his arm around my shoulder squeezing me into him.
"barely," I said. I wriggled out of his grasp going over to james. "is nate done?"
"let me check," he said going over to a phone. "fierro! you done? natalie's looking for you." he hung up the phone and turned to me. "he'll be here in a minute."
in shorter than that, nate bounded through the door. "ready?" he asked me, and i nodded saying bye to james, harry, and the rest of harry's crew.
